For the pre-sale, the UKey Card will be available in black or red. More colors will be available such as silver and blue in late 2019.
No, the UKey card is not waterproof. The card should not been immersed or exposed to water.
The UKey card is able to operate within the range of -10 to 50 Degrees Celsius.
No two fingerprints are the same, that’s what makes an individual unique. With its biometric authentication feature, users can make their transactions infinitely safer. Even if a user’s card is stolen, no one is able to make transactions using the stolen card.
The UKey card has 3 LED indicators: “Check”, “Done” and “Fail”.
The “Check” LED will blink in Orange color to indicate that the card is waiting for finger.
The “Done” LED will light on in Green color to indicate a match success.
The “Fail” LED will light on in Red color to indicate a match fail.
The card is compliant with the European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). It is also compliant with the French CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés).
The Unikeys Wallet is a mobile application designed to work with the UKey card. It allows users to send, receive and exchange cryptocurrencies, as well as inquiring balance and transaction records. The Unikeys mobile wallet will be first available for download in the google play store.

2 fingerprints can be registered in the UKey card. For practical reasons, we recommend to register the left and the right thumb.

Yes, the UKey card is very safe. Your UKey card is protected with a biometric sensor. No one can use it except you. The Secure Element used inside the UKey card has an EAL6+ Common Criteria security evaluation, an international standard for banking cards. The communication between the Unikeys wallet mobile application and the UKey card is encrypted and uses secure channels.

The long-lasting battery inside the UKey card can be used for up to 4,000 times. With an average of 3 to 4 transactions a day, the card can last for more than 3 years.
If you lose your UKey card, you can recover your private keys using the secret phrases via the recovery solution of the Unikeys Wallet application. The secret phrases consist of 12 to 24 mnemonic words that must be written down on a recovery sheet and safely stored.
The UKey card can connect to your smartphone via the NFC connection.
The UKey card can be used with the all the smartphones having:
- NFC capability
- Android 5.0 or later versions.
After initiating a transaction on the Unikeys mobile wallet, you will be asked to place the UKey card on the back of your mobile phone with your registered finger on the biometric sensor. he transaction details will be sent to the UKey card and signed with the appropriate cryptocurrency private key. The signature is generated and sent to the mobile wallet before being broadcasted to the blockchain network.
